A trained modern dancer and conservatory pianist, Toronto born Amanda Rose Moscar began her professional career with a joint BFA Honours Music Theatre degree from Sheridan College and the University of Windsor. Having performed anything from rock, to camp music theatre, to serious drama throughout Canada’s theatre circuit, it was a natural transition to self-expression on her own pi-ana.

Years of random subway scribbles, banging sounds out on her keys, and a general awe for life and living have percolated to a still-growing art. Currently, Amanda has one released single in Rough Cuts (Apmar Music), a single on the Toronto Independent Music Awards '09/'10 compilation CD and an 8 track acoustic release 'Hammers and Bones'. Featured on CKLN's 88.1 FM and gigging such venues in Toronto as The El Mocambo, Cameron House, The Supermarket, The Bread and Circus and C'est What, audiences are drawn in by Amanda’s direct candor, vivid imagery, and child-like vulnerability.

A strong candidate for writer's circles, Amanda's lyrics are highly personal, haunting and poignant... and like Amanda herself, can run through a full spectrum of emotional extremes.  A sensitive soul, master of exaggeration, and passionate dessert-enthusiast, Amanda is a definite funky, folk-cabaret girl.
